Play Ball (1)

Earlier this spring we had a not-so-pleasant experience with Maddie participating in a community activity.  ( see this post:  http://mcdj.wordpress.com/2008/04/04/so-the-drama/ )
I have a good friend who talks a lot about the value of participating in sports, and I figured my kids aren’t getting any younger, so during Easter Break I took all the kids up to the Township [...]

Spring Fun

OK, this is really just an excuse to post a photo of my children!
We went to Hidden Lake Gardens on Sunday, which is a nature conservatory type place a little less than an hour away.  Its so pretty and peaceful.  The kids had a great time just enjoying the scenery, checking out the walking paths, [...]

Cute photo!

Over Easter break, the kids and I went to Lake Erie Metropark’s Marshands Museum and Nature Center.  I took this photo of all my babies reading.

Are they all reading these nature and travel magazines that were at the park?  Obviously no!

Post a picture already!

OK, I found a picture and put it on my “about” page.  Please note that these photos were taken by children!  I place all the blame on them, not on the subject of the photos.

Although this blog’s main focus is Angelman Syndrome, in addition to Maddie I have three other fabulous children.
Jason/ Jay/ JJ/ J-Boogie/ Number Four : Not quite 2 years old yet.  He adores Andrew and wants to do exactly what big brother is doing.  Jason is starting to talk some, but gets along pretty well with sign language [...]

Spelling Homework Clip

I’ve started to work on #6 from my to-do blog list.  ((No, I didn’t work on numbers one through five yet!))  I’ve uploaded an example of Maddie doing her spelling homework.

I apologize for the video not being better quality.  With it getting dark out so early, the lighting isn’t the best.  This video is from my little [...]

What Worked For Us

I’ll try to sum up my thoughts without going on and on and on.   But first, my disclaimers!  I do think I need to stress I believe all kids with Angelman Syndrome have this kind of potential inside of them.  I don’t think that she is that incredibley exceptional, but we were able to figure out some [...]
