One of my goals for the summer was to update each of the kids’ bedrooms, since everyone had shifted bedrooms to make room for the new baby.
Actually, this was my goal before Nathan was born (Feb 2009), I didn’t make that deadline, nor did I make over Easter break (April 2009), before school was out (June 2009), or before out-of-towners visited (August 2009).
Maddie and Cassie’s rooms are complete, the 2 bigger boys share a room, and once I find a couple more baseball accessories and finish painting the trim in their room, it’ll be done.
Cassie had her own plan, pretty much purple everything with a loft bed over a desk. For Maddie’s room, I wanted it to be more teen-ish, but because she does have that destructive bit of Angelman Syndrome in her, not easily destroyed either.
I ended up laminating posters and posterboard and making a checkerboard pattern on the long wall. She had a couple wall stickers that had been given to her on her birthday that were finally hung up.

A striped comforter and curtains matched the idea/color scheme of the posterwall. Lastly I painted some wooden words from the craft store and hung them above a few chalkboards (chalkboards are just hung on nails and come right off).

And, happily for me, her re-done room included a new dutch door.

LOVELY! I want badly to redo Jordan’s room, but since her mom did it for her, it’s hard to repaint it.
