Little Nathan is 3 and a half months old, and appears to be a giant:

OK, maybe not ACTUALLY a giant (although considering the size of his mother, I’m not ruling out the possibility), but Nate lookslike a giant in his bassinet.
I’m disappointed! I like to keep the baby sleeping in my room in a bassinet until they’re almost old enough to sit up, usually six months of age or so.
So now Nathan is going to need to sleep in the crib in his own room. So this brings us to the dutch door.
Maddie (who has Angelman Syndrome) gets up at night. Not every night, but when she is, her actions are completely random.
Most times she will go to the upstairs den and watch TV, or she’ll come to my room.
But in the past month or so, she has tested her limits. Maddie decided she can open the gate at the top of the stairs, and go downstairs and eat unsupervised. Nothing would’ve stopped her from going outside.
She has cut her hair with cuticle clippers. She could have caused a lot of trouble messing around in the bathroom.
There is a real possibility that she could do something to harm Nathan, intentionally or unintentionally.
So we’re at the point where we need to re-evaluate our nighttime safety. I hope the solution to this is a dutch door.
HOPEFULLY picture of the dutch door coming soon.
